Program Overview

The 2-Year Foundation Course for Aalim Program is a structured and comprehensive program designed to build strong proficiency in Qur’anic Arabic Language, preparing students for advanced Islamic studies.

This course serves as the gateway to the full Aalim program, equipping students with the linguistic and foundational knowledge required for advanced Islamic studies.

Through a carefully designed curriculum, students will develop:

Strong command over Arabic Sarf (Morphology)
Deep understanding of Arabic Nahw (Syntax)
Practical skills in the Arabic language (Lugha & Expression)
Foundational knowledge of Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence)

Upon successful completion, students will be eligible to progress into the Full Aalim Program, In shaa Allah.

Curriculum Overview

Term 1: Elementary Morphology & Syntax

Sarf (Morphology): Introduction to the “Family” system of verbs; mastering conjugation of healthy three-letter root verbs. Identifying basic terminology of Arabic Morphology.

Nahw (Syntax): Understanding parts of speech (Noun, Verb, Particle) and nominal sentence basics. Study of grammatical states (I’raab).

Lugha: Foundational vocabulary practice in basic sentences.

Fiqh: Introduction to Taharah and essential pillars of Salah.

🎯 Term Goal: Identify word types and construct simple sentences.

Term 2: Intermediate Grammar

Sarf: Mastering irregular verb patterns (weak letters) and derived noun forms. Understanding all rules of ثلاثي مجرد with Quranic examples.

Nahw: Practice of اسم متمكن and اسم غيرمتمكن. Understanding objects (مفعول) and particles (حروف مشبهة بالفعل).

Lugha: Translating and creating basic Arabic paragraphs.

Fiqh: Detailed introduction to Salah.

🎯 Term Goal: Translate simple texts and understand grammatical changes.

Term 3: Advanced Syntax

Sarf: Understanding all categories of ثلاثي مزيد فيه with their forms. Study of مثال and أجوف including their تعليلات.

Nahw: Deep dive into “Factors” (Awamil) and advanced sentence structures (circumstantial clauses).

Lugha: Focus on reading Stories of the Prophets in Arabic.

Fiqh: Introduction to jurisprudence of Zakat & Fasting.

🎯 Term Goal: Independently read vocalized classical Arabic texts.

Term 4: Synthesis & Readiness

Sarf: Tables of لفيف, مضاعف, مهموز and ناقص including their تعليلات from the Holy Quran.

Nahw: Reading Arabic text with correct diacritical marks and translating using a dictionary.

Lugha: Translating English thoughts into classical Arabic structures.

Fiqh: Jurisprudence of Hajj and review of linguistic exceptions.

🎯 Term Goal: Fluency in parsing and readiness for advanced sciences.
