TIL Program FAQ

 

I can only understand basic Urdu, can I enroll in this course?
Yes. The course will be run in Urdu. The lectures will be delivered in Urdu and the texts used are in Urdu and Arabic. Efforts will be made to stick to simpler Urdu so that more people can benefit. In the first years the focus will be on developing a strong background in Arabic.

How will I get the books/texts?
We will try to arrange soft copies/scanned versions of all books that will be taught during the program. Those of you, who are based in countries where books are available would be encouraged to purchase their own book set.

Which curriculum will be followed?
We will be following the standard 8-year curriculum proposed by WifaqulMadaris al Arabiya Pakistan. The curriculum has room for some flexibility which will be utilized.

How are the examinations conducted?
Answer: Internal examinations by eMahad will be conducted during the year and also a final examination will be conducted online. Those of you who can visit our parent institution Mahad al Faqir al Islami in Jhang, Pakistan or any of our affiliate institutes in different parts of the world would be encouraged to sit in on-site examinations conducted by eMahad.

What degree will I receive by the end of the course?
By the end of the course, Mahad al-Faqir al-Islami, Jhang will issue you an Alim degree.

How are the classes going to be conducted?
Classes will be conducted through online classroom software.

Will I have access to recordings if I miss any class?
Yes, recordings will be made available after every class.
Do I have takraar/practice sessions in addition to the teaching sessions?
Yes, there will be 2-3 hours of takraar/practice sessions per week.

How much weekly workload should I expect in total?
Initially for the first 6 months, the total workload will be around 10-12 hours per week. Please note, the workload for every year will differ as you progress in the program.

Will I be able to attend classes on phone/tablets?
Yes. The classes can be attended through a phone or tablet with internet connection.

Transfer Students, kindly read the following instructions carefully,
• We are accepting transfer students as well. From 2nd Year till 7th Year, kindly send an email to Til@eMahad.org and provide the following details:
1. Official name of the Institute you are transferring from
2. Grade-sheets/Result-sheets/Transcripts of all the years you have completed in your old institute. In case you are unable to provide the grades, then your enrollment to the desired year will be determined by evaluation.

Diploma Programs FAQ

 

Is there an age restriction for the course?
Yes. The minimum age to enroll in the course is 14 years.

Is there any prerequisite to joining the course?
We only require students to have the spirit and willingness to learn. Other than there are no prerequisites for this course.

What are the requirements for graduation?
To successfully complete the course a student will need to:
• Attendee all the classes of course (either live or recording)
• Participate in class discussions and complete assignments
• Successfully clear the all-terms exam.

Is it possible to enroll as a listener and not give exams?
The course is designed for full-time students, however, under special circumstances, exceptions can be made. If you have special case, please contact course administrator. A completion certificate will not be issued in these instances.

What if I cannot make it to class at the stipulated class time? Will I have access to recordings?
Recordings are available for all classes. However, recording students will still need to participate in class discussion through class forums

What if I have to miss classes during the year because of my university exams or family engagements?
This course has been designed to cater to working men, women, students, and housewives alike, so we do understand that there may be occasions when you may not be able to attend the class for genuine reasons. In such scenarios, we provide recordings so that students may catch up with the classes they have missed.

Is there an Attendance Policy?
Yes, there is an attendance policy to be eligible to get the Quran Translation & Commentary Diploma certificate.

Is there a Fee that I need to pay to enroll in this Program?
Yes. Annual fee is there and it needs to be paid in USD, different diploma fee varies from USD $50 to USD $100. It needs to be paid at the time of the start of the year.
How do you conduct the classes?
We provide live classes with recordings availability, online assignments/quizzes, mark attendance and facilitate discussion forums to facilitate learning and development.

What software or hardware do I need to purchase/download to attend the classes?
All you need to start online learning courses is to have an internet connection, a desktop/laptop, or a smartphone, a headphone supported with microphone.
